Eugene R. "Gene" Duban1929 - 2016Eugene R. "Gene" Duban, 86, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at Grande Prairie Health and Rehab.He was born on Oct. 4, 1929, to the late Karol and Bernice Dubaniewicz in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.On Oct. 11, 1948 ,he entered the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean War as a telegraph repeater attendant. He was honorably discharged on June 2, 1952.On April 30, 1952, he married Marilyn J. Ellefson in Kenosha. She preceded him in death on Nov. 9, 2013.Gene worked at Tri-Clover as a parts programmer for many years, retiring from there.Gene was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was active in the men's group.Gene was an avid gardener, loved to cook and entertain for family and friends, and a Packer fan. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.Gene is survived by his children Jill Montgomery of Kenosha, Cindy (Robert Grulke) Duban of Madison and Scott (Heike) Duban of Salem and his grandchildren David Duban, Kevin Duban, Marc Grulke, Steven Duban and Christopher Grulke.He is preceded in death by a son Gary, a son-in-law Al Montgomery, his siblings Harriet Rook, Bernice Thelen, Gladys Scheible, Victor Duban and Leona Orgish.A Memorial Service for Gene will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 12 p.m. (Noon) at the Bruch Funeral Home with Military Honors to follow. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
