Stewart, Bishop Eugene J. Suffragan, 80, transitioned from labor to reward in glory on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. The youngest son of four children, Bishop Stewart was born on October 22, 1936 in Detroit,Michigan to John and Mamie Stewart. His pastoralship expands from Albuquerque,New Mexico for 15 years and 25 years in Louisville, Kentucky. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of nearly 55 years - Lady Elaine Stewart, his daughter, Eugenia Clairdy (Lawrence); son, Victor Stewart (Arlene) and brother, Dist. Eld. Uvie Stewart, Sr.; sister, Sandra Holland (Carl); 7 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Bishop Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bishop Carl W. Stewart (Janet) and sister-in-law Georgiana Stewart. The Celebration service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Greater Bethel Temple, 834 South Third St, Louisville, KY. Viewing will be from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., Celebration service commences at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Cave Hill Cemetery. Arrangements made by A.D. Porter & Sons Funeral Home.
