Eva Cleo Massie, 87, of Bedford, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016. She was born on Jan. 16, 1929 in Wendell, NC. She is a daughter of the late Clyde Lloyd Bowler and Ethell Johnson Bowler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Donald Massie; three brothers, Marion Bowler, Lawrence Bowler and Kenneth Bowler. Eva was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who cherished her family dearly. She also loved Birds, Gardening and her Raggedy Ann and Andy doll collection. She is survived by her husband of 68 years Robert Burton Massie; two sons, Larry Massie and wife, May and Glen Massie and wife, Susan; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 10 step great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Bowler and wife, Ola Mae; two sisters, Mildred Ballew and Hazel Marie Broyles; sister-in-law, Betty Bowler, also numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
