Troxel, Eva Jean (Bane) known to all as Jean, was born on March 22, 1925 to Eva Katherine (Pautz) Bane and Berry Travis Bane. She passed away peacefully in her residence at the Garden Terrace Center in Federal Way, WA on September 8, 2016. Jean grew up and worked in Kansas City, where she was encouraged by a co-worker whose brother was serving in WWII to begin writing to him as a pen-pal. That airman became her husband at the end of the war, when Jean married Thomas Clinton (Pete) Troxel. Jean loved being a stay-at-home mom raising her four sons, and lived in several cities in both the US and overseas as Pete travelled for his job with Boeing. Pete preceded Jean in death in 1986. During her travels Jean enjoyed collecting teacups, and in her later years, raising violet cultivars. Jean is survived by sons, Robert (Molly) Troxel of Wichita KS, Gary (Cynthia) Troxel of Fallon NV, Kent (Nina) Troxel of Palmdale CA, and Brian Troxel of Federal Way WA, and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There will be a Graveside Service from 1-2 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016, at Mountain View Cemetery, 2020 Mountain View, Auburn, WA 98001.
