Evander "Van"McCaskill1935-2017Evander "Van" McCaskill, 82, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. Van was born on February 13, 1935 in Jay, FL. He graduated from Jay High School and attended Pensacola Junior College. He had a long career at Merritt's Paint and Wallpaper for 43 years, where he made many friends in the community.Van was a member of First Baptist Church, Pensacola and loved cooking for church events for many years. He also enjoyed catering with the "Cook Brothers" in his spare time and was well known for his BBQ and fish fries.He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Marie McCaskill; his four brothers, Mont, Jack, Jim and Harry McCaskill and his two sisters, Mary Morris and Joy Kemble.Van is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn; his son, Van (Melissa) Northcutt of Auburn, AL; 2 daughters, Angela (Jerry) Jackson of Gilbertsville, KY and Karen (Stace) Rollefson of Frisco, TX; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.Visitation will be held at 10am Friday, March 24, 2017 with Memorial services beginning at 11am from the Pleitz Chapel, First Baptist Church.
