Today we mourn the loss of Evelyn Johnson, who passed away on September 9, 2024 in Washington, District of Columbia, United States. She was born on August 11, 1952 to Charlie Pounds and Geneva Luke-Pounds.

Evelyn married her beloved husband Herman Johnson in 1971 and together they had two children, Hermaine Tracy Johnson and Dwayne Pounds. She was a devoted mother and wife, always putting her family first.

Evelyn attended George Washington Carver High School in NN, VA where she graduated in 1971. She continued her studies at Howard University in Washington, DC. After completing her education, she worked at By-By Baby and retired in 1992. She was a dedicated member of the Deaconess organization and was awarded the Outstanding Employee Award for her hard work on her job.

Outside of work, Evelyn had a passion for dancing and making people laugh. She always had a smile on her face and brought joy to those around her. She will be remembered for her kind heart and infectious laughter.

Although Evelyn is no longer with us, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
