She was born on January 12, 1929 in Visalia, California; Evelyn was one of three children born to Oscar and Iva Benton. She was a resident of Visalia for over 88 years. Evelyn graduated from Visalia High School. Evelyn married the love of her life and her soul mate, Tony Andrade, Sr. in February of 1955.She was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother who was loved dearly.Evelyn managed the office for her and her husband's businesses. They had a dairy until the early 1970's, then a cattle business, ranching and farming. Tony and Evelyn then had a seed business and hay brokering business. Evelyn and her husband started a catering business in 1980, Andrade's Paradise Inn Catering Business.Evelyn was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for the years her daughter was in Elementary School. She was a great Scout Leader and loved being involved with it.Evelyn was a supporter of many organizations and causes during her lifetime and strongly believed in giving to the community. She was a member of the Tulare County Farm Bureau, PPAV Hall, Sons of Italy,
Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, St. Mary's Catholic Church, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. One of her proudest moments was the day she received her sacraments into the Catholic Faith.Evelyn's greatest joy in life was to host family gatherings; including holidays, birthdays, or whatever reason was needed for a party. She especially loved weddings. Evelyn loved the planning for a party, the decorating, the cooking, and having fun with everyone, including maybe one martini on the side. When she and Tony were younger, she loved taking the family and going to Santa Cruz. Evelyn loved vacationing at the coast at their home in Arroyo Grande. She was a mentor, teacher, friend, motivator, and role model to all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn always made time to talk to them, give them advice and spend time with them. In earlier days, she loved taking her grandchildren to Mooney's Grove and the Fresno Zoo. Evelyn has been a constant, cherished presence in their lives and will be missed greatly. The memories made will be forever etched in their hearts and minds.Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Tony Andrade Sr., father and mother Oscar and Iva Benton, brother Don (Mary Ann) Benton, sister Ana Mae (Joe) Souza, daughter Judy Andrade, great-granddaughter Mallory Marie Martin, and other nieces and nephews.Evelyn is survived by her children Sandi (Wil) Harris, Carol Andrade Castelo, Marlene Andrade, Tony (Sonia) Andrade, Tim Andrade. Her grandchildren Alvin Castelo, Donnette Carter, Lolia McFadden, Lun Castelo, Lisa Majarian, Joey Martin, Jeanette Ferreira, Sharlene Jumper, Rick Andrade, Melanie Dias, Lindsay Sellin, TJ Andrade, Analisa Andrade, Trason Andrade, and Haley Glick. Evelyn is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren Amanda, Megan, Matthew, Brianna, Jordan, Gerald, Cole, Austin, Michael, Madalyn, Rebecca, Ryan, Rachel, Karly, Emily, Madison, Wyatt, Cheyenne, Luke, Audrey, Wren, Taylin, Ella, Bristol, Reed, and two great great-granddaughters Addison, and Kinsley.Rosary will be Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 6:30 PM at Millers Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 28, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Visalia at 10:00 am. Burial Services will follow at Visalia Public Cemetery.The family would like to thank TLC and Twin Oaks Assisted Living for the special care they gave Evelyn in her final years.Evelyn will be fondly remembered by her family and many friends who will carry their memories of her forever.Tributes and condolences may be made at
