Evelyn M. Akers age 89, of Pleasant City, OH passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 9, 1934 in Akron, OH a daughter of the late Gilbert and Mary Alice Sellers.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing cards, and completing crossword puzzles. Evelyn was very family-oriented and loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson John Raymond Akers and a sister Betty Etling.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Raymond L. Akers, whom she married July 19, 1952; four children Suzanne Akers of Pleasant City, Raymond L. (Stella Hamilton) Akers Jr. of Sarahsville, OH, Tammy (Terry Chapman) Akers of Old Washington, OH, and Todd Akers of Pleasant City; six grandchildren Scott (Mary Buck) Akers, Tiffany (Michael) Schwartz, Melissa Akers, Jessica (John Grewell) Akers, Ashley Cormany, and Travis (Skylar) Akers; nine great-grandchildren Kalli, Dominic, Vincent, Judson, Ariana, Johnathan, Lewis, Maverick, and Eleanor; 2 great-great-grandchildren Raelynn and Maverick; 3 godchildren Deborah Krukow, Billy Bower, and Sheri Fern; a sister Margaret Parsons; her cat and companion Little Kitty.

Cremation will be observed with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family.
