She married Herbert Michael Yanish on November 14, 1938, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. She lived in Annandale nearly all her life where she was an active member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. As the mother of six boys, she somehow always managed to maintain her femininity, instilling in them her soft heart, her discernible laugh and most importantly, her devout faith and love for the Lord. In addition to her unceasing pride in her sons, she was proud of her home, her love and care for birds and nature and her work at Carlson's in Maple Lake where she made dolls. Her family and friends remember her for her welcoming hospitality, her love of traveling with her husband, Herb, her world famous potato salad and her light-hearted competitive card playing skills. Guests often enjoyed her endless supply of angel food cake and fresh berries from their garden.Evelyn is survived by her six sons, Mick (Sue) of Annandale, Ron (Dianne) of Rochester, Frank (Lorna) of Willmar, Gary (Bonnie) of Plymouth, Steve (Laurel) of Sartell, Chuck (Linda) of Kimball; her 19 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and her siblings Jenny Peterson of Maplewood, Esther Strode of Greeley, Colorado, Theresa Rose of New Ulm, Bernadette Flynn of Centerville, Ohio and Larry Hahn of St. Paul. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herb; her sister Rita Buis; and her brother Georgie Hahn.Evelyn's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Annandale Care Center who kept her company, played cards and laughed with her in her last years of life.Obituary, Guestbook & Video Tribute online at
