Evelyn Rose Alexander Evelyn Rose Alexander, 79 of San Bernardino, passed away on February 22, 2017. Evelyn was born on December 8, 1938; she was a graduate of Saint Bernardine High School and received an Associate of Arts Degree (Business) from San Bernardino Valley College. Evelyn retired from the City of San Bernardino in December of 1999 after 43 ½ years with the Library. She was a member of Soroptimist International of San Bernardino for over 45 years, member of the Del Rosa Neighborhood Action Group (DR NAG) for 23 years and President of DR NAG for the last 17 years. She was a member of and served on the Board of Directors at 1st Valley Credit Union for a total of 45 years. She served on the San Bernardino Police Commission for 5 year and the San Bernardino Civil Service Commission for 10 years. She was the first female member at the local parlor for the Native Sons of the Golden West (Arrowhead Parlor) for 14 years, was a member of the San Bernardino Historical Society for the last 10 years and volunteered at the San Bernardino Public Library for the last 7 years. She is survived by her son Nicholas Alexander, daughter-in-law Dawn Alexander, her grandsons Logan Alexander and Storm Alexander, her great grandchildren Edin, Kyi, Seth, Keira and her brothers Robert and John Magnino and her sister Marian Fairchild. Graveside Service will be held at 10 am, Friday, March 17th at Mt. View Cemetery of San Bernardino.
