EVERETTE HEAVY WINDHAM Services for Everette Heavy Windham, 99, will be at 2 PM Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 at the Post Church of Christ. Burial in Terrace Cemetery will be under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:30 until 7:30 Sunday at the funeral home. He died on Nov. 18, 2016 in Slaton. He was born on Sep. 25, 1917 in Emery, Texas to W. C. Bill and Bessie Windham. He moved to Post in 1923 and attended Post schools. Heavy married Wyanza Nell Hedrick on Feb. 12, 1938 in Post. She preceded him in death on April 20, 1987. He later married Mary Landreth in September 1991. She preceded him in death on January 22, 2011. He worked for the George R. Brown Partnership for many years retiring as the superintendent. He served as one of the directors of the White River Water District for many years. He was a member of the Post Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons: Jerry and wife Melanie Windham of Post and Danny and wife Sara Windham of Abilene, one daughter: Wyanza and husband Bruce Basinger of Slaton. two step-daughters: Pat McCowan of Denton and Teresa Crenshaw of Post, 7 Grandchildren and 6 step Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 4 step Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Heavy was also preceded in death by two sisters: Sybil Miller and Ruth Hill, 1 Step-son: Nuel A. Landreth and 1 daughte-in-law: Lesa Windham.
