Fay D JensenMarch 3, 1933 - November 23, 2014Fay Dayton Jensen died on Nov. 23, 2014 in the Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Facility in Montpelier, Idaho, with his loving family by his side. Fay was born on March 3, 1933 to Alfred Thomas and Olive Matilda Dayton Jensen in Montpelier, Idaho along with his twin sister, Faun. He was the fifth of seven children.Fay grew up and went to school in Montpelier, graduating from Montpelier High School. He was a member of the High School Choir.His father died when he was sixteen years old. His mother later married Chancy Michaelson.He met Alice Ann Smith and they were married on November 15, 1955 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were married for 58 years. They moved to Georgetown, Idaho and had lived there since that time. They had four children: Paula Faye, Kathy Ann, Chris James, and Marla Sue.Fay worked for the U.S. Forest Service (which he loved), Central Farmers Phosphate, El Paso, Wells Cargo, and Monsanto phosphate mines. When he wasn't working at his full time job, he would help his father-in-law on his dairy farm cutting and hauling grain and hay for him, among other things. Fay loved his horses and anything to do with being a cowboy, including branding. He also rode and fixed fence in the Slug Creek area for the Cattlemen's Association. He looked forward to the annual cattle round-up in Slug Creek, where he could ride and socialize with the other cattlemen. He and his brother Don would go hunting deer every year on their horses.While he was still employed full time at the mines, he starting helping out on the Owen and Phillip Bartschi ranch in Nounan and Malta, ID. After he retired from Monsanto, he was able to help the Bartschi's a lot more.After entering retirement, Fay would travel to Emmett to see his son Chris and his family. He would also go to Salmon, ID to help his ex-son-in-law on his ranch, where he was also able to see his grandchildren there.Fay enjoyed going to the Country Corner store in Georgetown and the Ranch Hand Truck Stop where he would have coffee and conversations with many local friends and truck drivers. Unfortunately, Fay had a stroke over 11 years ago that made it impossible for him to do all the things that he enjoyed doing. But he still liked getting together with his family each year and camping for a few days at the annual family reunion. Fay loved his family dearly. He liked to get together with them at the Ranch Hand Truck Stop whenever someone had a birthday to celebrate and have birthday cake and ice cream. He especially enjoyed have little children around. He is survived by his four children: Paula (Eddie) Koeven of Dingle, ID, Kathy (Jason) Parker of Montpelier, ID, Chris (Kim) Jensen of Emmett, ID, and Marla (Chris) Christensen of Nounan, ID. He is also survived by his sister, Doreen Rogers, Salt Lake City, Utah. He had 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren with three more on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Ann, father, mother, step-father, sisters Janone and Janiece (twins), brother Don, his twin sister Faun, brother Thomas, grandson Kolby Parker, and son-in-law Rick Hennings.Funeral services will be held on December 6, 2014 in the Georgetown LDS Ward Church. Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetary.
