Fay SedlacekJanuary 6, 1929 - January 26, 2017Fay Sedlacek, 88, of Nampa, Idaho passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Holly Lane Care Center in Nampa. Visitation and viewing will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 1 at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South in Nampa. Funeral Services will be at 9:30am on Thursday, February 2 at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 15862 South Indiana Avenue in Caldwell – Where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Please visit

The family lived in Garden Valley until 1932 when they moved to Melba, Idaho. She attended school at Melmont, Melba, and Nampa. She was active in 4-H with Holstein cattle and won a trip to National 4-H Congress in Chicago, Illinois.On August 7, 1949 she married Henry Sedlacek, Jr. The two farmed in Melba, Nampa and Meridian. They raised two sons and two daughters and lost three daughters to still birth. Beyond her family and cattle, Fay enjoyed chickens, gardening, and canning. She also researched family genealogy.She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.Fay is survived by three of her children, Randy Sedlacek of Meridian, Gary (MaryAnn) Sedlacek of Nampa, and Beckey Johnson of Kuna; a son-in-law, William Nance; 7 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Sedlacek; daughters, Cindy Sedlacek Nance, Bethine Sedlacek, Deniece Sedlacek, and Laurene Sedlacek; daughter-in-law, Joyce Sedlacek; son-in-law, Harry Johnson; her parents; and her brother and sister.
