Felix R. Romo, 79, went home with the Lord on Aug. 7, 2016. He was born and raised in Lourdes and currently a resident of Las Vegas. Felix was born on Jan. 12, 1937. He was united in marriage on Aug. 8, 1960, to Romana Martinez. Felix served his country proudly, serving in the United States Navy and National Guard. After his time he received honorable discharges from both. He enjoyed ranch work, horses and hunting. Felix also enjoyed spending time with his family and loved having his grandchildren and great-grandchildren around him. He is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Romo; parents, Felix and Ferminia Romo; sisters, Helen Ruiz, Lucy Romero and Andrea Valles; and mother- and-father-in-law, Paula and Domingo Martinez.He is survived by his wife, Romana Romo; daughter, Dolores Darlene Romo; sons, Felix L. Romo, and Robert Pacheco and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, JohnDavid and Miranda, Gabriel and Kristen, Felicia and Gene, Daniel, Veronica, Valene and Lorraine; great-grandchildren, Felix, Logan, Shyanne, Alleyah and Davah; brothers and sisters, Merlinda Gonzales of Las Vegas, Marcella Lopez, Tony Garcia and wife, Carmen, Dolores Soto and husband, Paul, of Albuquerque, Frances Lopez and husband, Ken of Bent, N.M., Joe Romero of San Diego, Calif.; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Candelaria (Lala) Lucero and husband, Ponciano, Elauterio Martinez and wife, Christine, of La Loma, Rosina Dominguez and husband, Frank, Virginia Gonzales of Las Vegas, Cecilia Gallegos of Penasco, Agueda Abeyta of Ledoux, Jose Martinez and wife, Jenny, of Albuquerque, and Dora Martinez of Las Vegas. There are also numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and special friends, Yvonne Medina and Lisa Briggs Valdez.The rosary service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today (Friday) at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Funeral services will take place at noon Saturday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Burial will take place at 9:45 a.m. Monday at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving as urn bearers are: JohnDavid Salazar, Gabriel Salazar and Felicia Romo. Serving as honorary urn bearers will be great-grandchildren, Felix, Logan, Shyanne, Alleyah and Davah.
