A life well lived

Fillmore Hibbler, born on 01/01/1950, passed away on 05/08/2023 in Lexington, Mississippi, United States. He was a beloved member of the community, and his loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

He was born to proud parents, Michael and Mary Hibbler, in the small town of Lexington. Fillmore was the eldest of his five siblings, and he quickly became a loving and protective big brother. He attended the local schools and was loved by his teachers and classmates for his bright personality and sense of humor.

After graduating from high school, Fillmore enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for four years and was honorably discharged in 1972. His service to his country was a source of pride for him, and he often spoke of his time in the military with great fondness.

Upon returning to his hometown, Fillmore began a career in construction, which he pursued for most of his life. He was known for his attention to detail and love of working with his hands. Fellow workers and supervisors alike appreciated his easy-going nature and dedication to his craft.

Fillmore was a devoted husband to his wife of 45 years, Dorothy, and a loving father to their three children: Michael Hibbler, Katanga Hibbler-Peterson, and Shariel Hibbler-Thomas. His family was his highest priority, and he would often sacrifice his own needs to ensure their happiness and well-being. He was a role model and inspiration to his children and grandchildren, who will miss him dearly.

In his free time, Fillmore enjoyed fishing and watching his beloved Mississippi State Bulldogs play football. He was a social butterfly and could always be relied upon to brighten up a room with his infectious laughter and jokes.

Fillmore Hibbler will be laid to rest at the Lexington Cemetery, where he will be surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones. He will be remembered as a kind, generous, and caring individual who touched the lives of everyone he met. His legacy of love and positivity will continue to live on through those who were lucky enough to know him.
