Nowak, Flora AnnFlora Ann Nowak, age 89, a Manitowoc resident, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Bishop's Court, Green Bay.She was born on December 17, 1926 in town of Manitowoc Rapids, daughter of the late William and Anastasia (Klein) Schadeberg. On November 29, 1952 she married Eugene J. Nowak at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Flora was employed as a nursing aide unit clerk at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, retiring in 1991. She volunteered as an admissions escort at Holy Family along with volunteering at Peter's Pantry and St. Vincent DePaul. Flora was a member of the Befriender Group and the Rosary & Altar Society of St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She also enjoyed reading to children at the Lakeshore Resource Center in Manitowoc.Survivors include her husband: Eugene Nowak, Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law: Janet & Phil Brunwin, Connecticut, Jean & Guy Smith, Minnesota; three sons and two daughters-in-law: James Nowak, Manitowoc, Jerald & Jill Nowak, North Carolina, John & Elle Nowak, Green Bay; seven grandchildren: Jack Brunwin, Anastasia, Sampsun & Gretchen Smith, Michelle (Steve) Classon, Nicole (Vic) Kingsley, Danielle (Matt) McLane; and six great grandchildren: Isabella, Madison, Andreas, Levi, Harper and Ronan. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall (1114 South 21st Street) Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier. Cremation will follow at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and Flora's cremated remains will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall (1114 South 21st Street) Manitowoc, from 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 until 11:15 a.m.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Flora Ann's name to Peter's Pantry.Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.pfefferfuneralhome.comThe Pfeffer Funeral Home & All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, are assisting the family with funeral arrangements.The family wishes to send a special thank you to Bishop Ricken for his help on sending Mom on her journey home.
