Florence Abbie (Chapman) Anderegg passed away in Green Valley, Arizona on Thursday, October 16. Abbie (known as Ronnie to some) was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Having lived in Anchorage during statehood, the family moved to Juneau in 1968 where son Peter, now in Barrow and daughter Susan, now in Bozeman, MT graduated from JDHS. Abbie is also survived by daughter Judith of Anchorage and son James currently living in Oak Ridge TN. Abbie was a scout leader more years than her children can remember, a volunteer extraordinaire, and a docent/ tourism cheerleader throughout her time in Juneau. Once the kids were all off to college Abbie worked tirelessly at George's Gift Shop, enjoying meeting tourists from all over the world. She was also an active member of the Chapel-by-the-Lake.After Jim's retirement from the State of Alaska Jim and Abbie traveled extensively before settling in a retirement community in Green Valley.Abbie was born on June 22, 1922 in Springfield, Vermont and grew up on a small farm before serving in WWII as a nurse, where she met her future husband, Jim Anderegg (deceased). The family will hold a private ceremony in Arizona honoring and celebrating Abbie's life.
