Florence Ives Langianese, 90, of Lewis Run, passed away on Wednesday (Dec. 7, 2016) at the Pavilion at Bradford Regional Medical Center.She was born on Feb. 9, 1926, in Lewis Run, a daughter of the late Howard and Gaetana Tortis Ives.She was a 1943 graduate of the Bradford Area High School.On May 10, 1947 in Lewis Run she married Samuel G. Langianese, who survives.While in high school Florence worked after school at the former North Eastern Container Co. as a bookkeeper and on Saturdays she worked at the former Newberry's five and dime. After graduation she worked full time at North Eastern as a bookkeeper for ten years for Bill Schubert. Her and her husband moved to Chicago, Ill., where she got a job working for Coca-Cola for five years; she then got a job at American Airlines where she worked in personnel for 20 years, retiring in 1981. At this point they moved back to Lewis Run where she got a job working for Dr. Leon Brodis as a dental assistant until he retired; then she worked for his son Dr. Andrew Brodis until she decided to retire again.She was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Lewis Run and the Pine Acres Country Club. She was an avid reader who enjoyed golfing, bowling, going dancing with her husband, roller skating and ice skating.In addition to her husband of 69 years, Samuel Langianese of Lewis Run, she is also survived by one sister, Ann Ives Phillips Rhoades of Bradford; one brother, Howard "Russ" Ives of Yountville, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Jean Senuta of Olean, N.Y.; one brother-in-law, Matt Langianese of Beaumont, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one sister, Antionette Pelino Valentine and three brothers, Walter Pelino, Tony Pelino and Dom Pelino.Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Mascho Funeral Home Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Lewis Run, with the Rev. Stephen Collins as celebrant.Entombment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the St. Bernard School Library, 450 West Washington St., Bradford, PA 16701.Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home Inc.
