Kelly, Florence Marie Florence Marie Kelly, age 91, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2017 in Surprise, AZ. She was born on November 9, 1925 in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Florence was the youngest of eight children and lovingly known as "Dolly" to family and friends. She was devoted to family and enriched the lives of so many with her friendship. Fond memories of family gatherings in Brooklyn remained close to her heart to the very end. She loved to swim in her younger years and enjoyed rug hooking, and making beautiful ceramic pottery later in life. She worked hard all her life but especially enjoyed her time working for California Pies, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, and Public School 94, all in New York, and for the State of Arizona as a home care provider before retiring. Florence was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William and Florence White, her seven brothers, husband Thomas J. Kelly, and Herbert Lee, the second love of her life. She is survived by two sons, Kevin (Mary Ann), Thomas (Kim), and daughter Lorraine Mattingly (Chris), nine cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. Viewing will be held at Colonial Funeral Home on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 8am-11am, located at 2819 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, N.Y. 10306, to be followed by a grave site service at Ocean View The Cemetery Beautiful, located at 3315 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY 10306. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care that Florence received at Arizona Care, where she resided, and from Allison, Susie, Danielle, Rochelle, Tammy, Michelle, and Jessica of Banner Hospice.
