Floyd James Dancey Dec. 4, 1926 - May 4, 2017 Floyd "Bud" Dancey, age 90 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 4 at his home in Sunset Haven, Carnduff. Bud was predeceased by his parents Hamilton and Marguerite Dancey, his sister Edith Hansen, parents-in-law Maurice and Evelyn Berry, sister-in-laws Muriel Nicholls, Helen Riley, and Barb Berry, brother-in-laws Henry Hansen, Louis Nicholls, Les Riley, and Bill Berry. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Leone, and his children Sharon (Bill) Hubbard, Cheryl (Dick) Milton, Barb (Terry) Hendrickson, and Rick (Margarite) Dancey, and grandchildren Michael and Lee Hubbard, Erin (Trent) Nichols,, Rory (Lindsay) Buscholl, Kolby Milton, Jody (Craig) Brown, Jay, Kristen, and Rhagen Hendrickson, Stephanie, Stacey, and Samantha Dancey, as well as great-grandchildren Teanna, Logan, Hannah, Emma, Ashtyn, Cooper, Lincoln, and Birkleigh. Bud was born on Dec. 4, 1926 in Gainsborough and was raised on the family farm at Storthoaks. He attended Ingoldsby School, high school in Carievale and went on to Musker Engineering Institute in Winnipeg. He worked as a contract battery operator for various companies until retirement. Bud loved music and played guitar, mandolin, keyboard, bass, fiddle, and dobro. He was talented in many ways, in music, mechanics, and technology. He and Leone travelled extensively in Canada and the U.S. and spent many winters in Florida. They made many lifelong friends on their travels, as well as through playing music. A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church in Carnduff on Friday, May 12 at 2 PM. Interment will follow at the Carnduff Cemetery.
