STEVENS POINT - Floyd R. Bass, 86, formerly of Racine, died Wednesday November 24, 2011, at Northcrest Assisted Living Stevens Point. He was under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. Floyd was born on November 5, 1925, in Jackson. He was the son of the late Raymond and Grace (Davis) Bass. His marriage to Shirley Caine took place on October 18, 1947. She died on March 20, 1998. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the Navy during the Pacific Campaign. Floyd worked as an Engraver/Pressman for the Racine Journal Times. He retired in 1988. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball, traveling, and handy work. Survivors include his daughters, Doreen (Sam) Marshall of Austin, Texas, Clara (Richard) Saltz of Stevens Point, and Penny Glodowski of Stevens Point; sons, Mike (Elissa) Bass of Burlington and Tom Bass of Amherst; grandchildren, Joshua Bass, Kevin Bass, Jessica Wilson, Matthew Oley, and Edith Marshall; and great grandchild, Mackayla Eisel. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. To honor Floyd's wishes the services will be private. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home Stevens Point is assisting the family with arrangements.
