Floyd "Bumpy" Smith, longtime resident of San Benito, Texas, entered eternal rest Thursday morning, September 7th, 2017, in Harlingen, at the age of 28.
Bumpy was born December 19th, 1988, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, the son of Alonso Smith and Irene Gonzales. After graduating from St. Mary's High School in San Antonio, Bumpy worked for the San Benito News. He was a devoted member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Elmendorf, where he was a member of the Altar Society.
Bumpy is survived by his siblings, Karen Smith of Hutto and Edwin Smith of Austin; his nieces and nephews, Natasha Soles and husband, Tyreice, LaJoi Smith and husband, Chris, Debbie and husband, Michael, Lisa Perez and husband, Javier, Charles Davis and wife, Amber. Bumpy was preceded in death by his parents, Alonso and Irene.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 A.M., followed by the recitation of the rosary and funeral mass at 12:00 P.M., Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church in San Benito. A private burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Santa Cruz.
