DAVENPORT, IA Forrest Rae Wacker, 83, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Risen Christ Lutheran Church, Davenport, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at The Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Forrest was born on September 2, 1931, in Wilton, Iowa, the son of Raymond Wacker and Emma Albert. He was united in marriage to Mary Collatz on December 5, 1954, in Omaha, Neb. Forrest was a combat veteran of the
army, having served two combat tours in Korea, earning a combat infantry badge and other awards. Forrest was a very active church member. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and tending to his flowers. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 60 years, Mary; children Valorie (JR) Colclasure of Canyon Lake, Texas, Forrest (Geri) Wacker of Chugiak, Alaska, and Mark (Rita) Wacker of Walcott, Iowa; grandchildren, Heather (David) Smith of Oak Grove, Ky., Seth (Valerie) Wacker of Sanford, N.C., Katie (David) Ramsey of Pensacola, Fla., Jason Coclasure of Huntsville, Texas, Michael (Francis) Coclasure of New Braunfels, Texas, and Selena Campbell of Richwood, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, William Wacker of Biloxi, Miss., and Donald (Carol) Wacker of Vero Beach, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. Forrest was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Edna; and sister, Delores Simmons. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice or to the church. Online tributes may be expressed at
