Frances Del Gizzi passed away at 87 years old on November 30, 2016 after a long illness. Fran was predeceased by her beloved husband Florindo "Joe" in 1992. She was a loving mother to Eileen (Daniel) Aiken and Karen (Richard) Robey. She was a devoted grandmother to Kendra, Christian, Matthew, Elizabeth, Katie and great grandmother of Faith. Fran was born on May 21, 1929 in Boston, Massachusetts to Sarah and Santo Veneziano. She and Joe were married in 1954, moved to the Bay Area in 1965 and finally settled in Cameron Park in 1983 where they owned several coffee shops. Fran was very active, serving on the El Dorado Grand Jury, was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW of Placerville, Post #2680, took Hospice Training and worked for the school district in Cameron Park at Extended Day Care. She was a founding parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in El Dorado Hills, being on the ground floor of the Building Fund and the Banking Ministry, the founder of the 50 Plus Club, volunteered at the Upper Room--feeding the homeless and was also a church greeter. The biggest joy in Fran's life was her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Fran loved to sing, dance, and watch baseball. Some of her favorite singers were Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Connie Francis, and Barbra Streisand. Her favorite team were the Oakland A's and she rarely missed a game. A Vigil Service will be held for Fran on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. at Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Road, Placerville. The Mass of Christian burial is on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3111 Tierra de Dios Drive, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762 followed immediately by a reception. Interment will follow the reception at 2:30 P.M. at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Placerville.
