Frances Dumez Frances "Fran" Bolton Dumez, age 78, died August 14, 2012 at her home. A resident of Houma, LA, she was born on June 23, 1934 in Vacherie, LA, the daughter of the late Franklin Neal Bolton and Corinne Olivier Bolton. Fran graduated from St. James High School in 1952 and received a BA in Education from Louisiana State University in 1956. Prior to attending LSU she also attended Nicholls State University, where she was a majorette. On December 22, 1956, she married Bryan Joseph Dumez, Jr. She was a teacher for 8 years, retiring to devote her time and energies to her growing family. Along with a fierce devotion and love for all (but particularly LSU) sports, her hobbies included traveling and vacation cruises with her family along with cooking for and hosting family celebrations. Always ready and eager to talk, listen and offer encouragement to family and friend alike, her easy laugh and generous spirit will be missed by all who were fortunate to know her. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Bryan Joseph Dumez, Jr. and their six children: Steve Dumez (Suzanne) of New Orleans, LA; William Dumez (Yordanos) of Nashville, TN; Joan D. Adams (Todd) of Houma, LA; Jenifer D. Folse (Donald) of Kingwood, TX; Elizabeth D. Richie of Houma, LA; and Pamela Dumez of Houma, LA. She is also survived by her brother George "Bill" Bolton and sister-in-law Sylvia of Thibodaux, LA; brother-in-law Paul "Chuck" Vitrano of Destrehan, LA; sister-in-law Joanna Bolton of Vacherie, LA; and by thirteen grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father Franklin Neal Bolton; mother Corinne Olivier Bolton; brother F. Neal "Butch" Bolton; sister Marilyn Bolton Vitrano; and niece Ann Vitrano Dunn. The family would also like to offer their deepest thanks to the caretakers who offered Fran such loving care and to Haydel Memorial Hospice for all of their help and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Haydel Memorial Hospice or the . She asked that her ashes be placed in the family mausoleum. Services will be private.
