Frances M. Weller, of Dover, passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at the home of her caregiver. Frances was born on Feb. 1, 1924 in Dover to the late James Francis Melvin and Gladys Burris Melvin.Frances was a graduate of John Bassett Moore High School and a member of the Hartly United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years and also sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Hartly Volunteer Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary.Frances began her working career with the state of Delaware in the Division of Motor Vehicles and later the State Treasurer's office. Once she left state employment she continued her career in the banking industry, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, dining out and spending time with family and friends.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Joyce M. Dudasik and Delmar J. Dudasik of Smyrna; son and daughter-in-law, Melvin (Mel) W. Weller and Linda Lee M. Weller of Dover and Rehoboth Beach, along with several nieces, nephews and dear and close friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver.Frances was predeceased by her husband of 53 years Elwood W. (Bud) Weller in 1997, and two brothers, Franklin Melvin and Charles G. Melvin and his wife Emaline T. Melvin King; mother-in-law and father-in-law Ethel M. Weller and Elwood J. Weller; sisters- in-law and brothers-in-law Anne Weller Stafford and husband Woodrow Stafford, Betty L. Weller Wooleyhand and husband Nobel Wooleyhand.Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a funeral service 12:30 p.m. at Traders Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover.
