We are saddened to announce the passing of Francis Sterling-Mayfield, who left us on October 22, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Born on March 3, 1942, Francis lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by loved ones.

Francis was a beloved spouse to Bervin Mayfield, with whom they shared many wonderful years of love and companionship since their marriage in 1962. Together, they welcomed five children into the world: Joann, Vonda, Janis, Bervin Jr., and Sheila. Their home was always filled with laughter, love, and the joyful chaos that comes with a large family.

Francis took great joy in watching their children grow and blossom into amazing individuals. They were a dedicated parent who always put their family first, and their legacy lives on through their children and grandchildren.

Francis had a zest for life that was infectious to all who knew them. They had a great sense of humor and could always be counted on for a witty remark or a kind word. Francis was a true friend to many, and their presence will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing them.

In their final days, Francis fought a courageous battle with cancer, demonstrating the same strength and determination that they displayed throughout their life. Though they may be gone, Francis's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.
