Francis (Frank) Love passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in Yuma, Arizona. Frank was born on May 22, 1926, in Cumberland, Maryland. Frank served in the U.S. Army Air Force during
World War II. Frank taught at Mary Elizabeth Post School, Fourth Avenue Jr. High School, and retired from Arizona Western College as a History Professor. In addition to teaching, Frank was a published author who wrote several articles and books on Arizona history for western publications. Frontier Times and True West were two of the magazines he wrote for. Frank also wrote a weekly column in the Yuma Sun, titled "When Arizona was Young". Frank volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Century House Museum. Frank was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. Frank is survived by his wife, Dorothy Love (Dot); daughters, Linda Jefferies (Jim); Kathy Myers (Richard); grandchildren, Kimberly Richard (Sam), Scott Jeffries, Joe Myers, Richard Myers V. (Karrie), Jennifer Frazier (Justin); his brother, John Love, and 7 great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Olive Love and his brother Richard Love. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church located at 298 W. 3rd Street in Yuma. Pastor Jim Wiltbank will be officiating.
