Francis "Bud" BarzeeCocoaFrancis "Bud" Barzee, 88, passed away on February 14, 2017 in Cape Canaveral, FL.He was born on November 2, 1928 in New Haven, CT, to parents Francis and Irene Barzee.Francis was self-employed as an insurance investigator in Connecticut, retiring to Cocoa about 20 years ago.He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and Air Force, organizing several reunions of his Marine Corp Battalion.He was a history buff and an avid reader; he read many books in the Cocoa library—staying on a first name basis with the librarians and even having books special ordered for him. He was a pilot, a hockey fan, and loved playing Chopin on his piano.Francis is predeceased by his sisters, Judy Feeley and Joan Lee.He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth; his son, Brian (Pam) Barzee; his daughters, Brenda (John) Toth, Lynne (John) Ruggio, Jill (Chuck) Holzer; 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.A memorial mass will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Cocoa.
