Francis Marion Pryor, Jr.of Indianapolis, passed away on November 3, 2017 A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, Francis Marion Pryor, Jr. passed into eternal life on November 3, 2017. A member of the Greatest Generation, he was born on May 1, 1928 to Lola (Turnipseed) and Francis Marion Pryor, Sr.Graduating from Washington High School, he entered the
U.S. Navy serving as a medic during
World War II.Prior to Francis' honorable discharge from the Navy, he married Bernice Riley of West Indianapolis. That union lasted over 67 years and produced 8 children who gave Francis and Bernice 25 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. Francis worked primarily in the trucking business but also earned the Certified Life Underwriter designation selling life insurance. He was involved in Boy Scouts, genealogy, but especially the ministries of Colonial Hills Baptist Church, where his was a member for over 52 years.Funeral arrangements entrusted to Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple. Visitation is on Friday, November 10 between 4:00 and 8:00 PM at Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 8140 Union Chapel Rd, Indianapolis. Services will be held on Saturday (Veterans Day), November 11, at 11:00 AM also at Colonial Hills.
