Francis Frank MuchaJan. 30, 1954 - Nov. 24, 2016BUCHANAN - Francis Frank Mucha died peacefully at his home on Nov. 24, 2016 at the age of 62.Frank is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Mucha of Grand Rapids, MI; wife, Rosemary Mucha of Buchanan, MI; children, Matthew (Paige) Payne of Chapin, SC, Jacob (Heidi) Mucha of Grand Rapids, MI, Marcus Dohn, Stephanie Dohn, Jeffrey Mucha, Nicole Mucha, Dallis Reynolds, and Blake Graber, all of Buchanan, MI; grandchildren, Ellison and Charles Payne as well as Eleanor Mucha; and siblings, Deborah (Michael) Nelson of Rockford, MI, Michael (Jean) Mucha of Byron Center, MI, Jeffrey (Michelle) Mucha of Grand Rapids, MI, and Janis (Jaap) Bosmeijer of Jenison, MI. His father, Joseph Mucha, preceded Frank in death. Frank was born on Jan. 30, 1954 in Grand Rapids, MI to Joseph and Elizabeth Mucha. He graduated from Grand Valley State in 1976 with a teaching degree in mathematics. After graduation, Frank was hired by Buchanan Community Schools as a math teacher. In 1993, Frank married Rosemary Payne in Buchanan, MI where they have lived for the past 23 years raising their family. In addition to teaching, Frank coached a variety of sports teams in the community and through the school. Through his love of sports, Frank had a special gift to encourage youth of all ages to believe in themselves and work hard. His unique teaching, coaching, and umpiring has inspired kids and adults of all ages. Frank was usually found in the classroom, along the sidelines, behind the plate or in the corner of a mat. Frank's coaching resume included nearly 600 wrestling dual wins, which is 14th all-time in the state of Michigan. He was generous with his time and loved coaching a variety of sports from the little kids teams to varsity level athletics. Between coaching and teaching for 41 years, Frank was extremely passionate about molding young people to become quality adults. He modeled this in his own life daily as a mentor to so many.Frank's life will be remembered and honored on Sunday, December 4 from 1:30 to 3:30 with visiting of the family at Buchanan High School. A memorial service will follow at 3:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for distribution to the Buchanan High School wrestling programs and/or to Lory's Place.
