Francis Theodore "Pete" Boone Jr., 94, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born on Oct. 1, 1920, in Balltown to the late Francis T. Sr. and Sadie Florence Clements Boone. He was a retired employee of General Electric and also farmed and worked as a carpenter. As an Army veteran of World War II he came home on the SS Bardstown Victory Ship.Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sons, Francis T. "Buck" Boone III, Mike Boone and an infant son; a daughter, Geraldine Sallengs; and a brother, J. R. Boone.Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Wanda Myrna Bryan Boone; five sons, Tommy Boone, of Louisville, Leroy Boone, of Bardstown, Joey Greenwell, of Culvertown, Eddie Greenwell and Robert "Freddy" Boone, both of Bardstown; two daughters, Cheryl Jackson and Bonnie McDonald, both of Bardstown; a sister, Edna Cassity, of Bardstown; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in Bardstown Cemetery. The Rev. Karl Lusk will officiate. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, July 24, and after 8:30 a.m. Saturday, July 25, at the funeral home. Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
