Armando, Frank A. Jr. CASTLETON Frank Anthony Armando, 70, of Castleton, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 29, 2017, after a prolonged illness with diabetes and heart disease. He was born on March 1, 1946, in Harrisburg, Pa., and was the beloved son of the late Helen Battina and Frank A. Armando Sr. He was a graduate of Maple Hill High School and the New York State Troopers Academy Troop G. After graduating the academy, he went on to become a police officer for the town of Schodack, where he fulfilled his life's work serving the community around him. He was an avid baseball fan and he loved to watch the New York Yankees play the game. What Frank most enjoyed, though, was spending time with his family, especially his nine grandchildren. Frank is survived by Daun Drowne and Deneen Tibbitts; his six children, sons, Christopher Armando, Scott (Robyn) Armando, daughters Gina (James) Sarant of Raleigh, N.C., Deanna Armando and his stepsons, Justin (Jessica) Tibbitts and Jeff Tibbitts. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, February 3, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton-on-Hudson. A brief funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, all donations may be made to the .
