FREDERICKTOWN – Frank Hinch Adams, III, of St. Charles, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at the age of 65 years. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 23, 1951 to the late Jack Eugene Adams and Marie (Plummer) Umfleet, who survives. In addition to his father, Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Fadler and a half-sister, Lisa Robinson.
A 1970 graduate of Fox High School in South St. Louis County, Frank served proudly as a corpsman in the United States Navy for 35 years. A veteran of Vietnam, Desert Storm and Afghanistan . finally retiring in 2005 as a Master Chief. Throughout the years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and raising cattle. His family will cherish the memory of his strong, kind nature and generous devotion he showed for them.
In addition to his mother, Marie, Frank is survived by his loving wife, Liz (White) Adams; two sons, Frank (Kelly) Adams, IV and Ryan Adams; one daughter, Lindsey (Douglas) Currington; his granddaughter, Caroline Adams - who was truly the light of his life; five grandsons, Richard, John, Nathaniel, Everett, and Samuel Currington; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held on March 17th and 18th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the family farm in Silex. A funeral with full military honors will be held Sunday March 19th at 10 a.m. at the family farm. Internment will be Sunday March 26 at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. Memorials, if desired, may be made in Frank’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project or to your local VFW Hall.
