Frank J. FarrellYorkFrank J. Farrell, 95, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 at the York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ann M. (Cassolino) Farrell.He was born on July 29, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Dolan) Farrell. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Hall and Cecilia McNulty of Brooklyn, NY. He was a graduate of Long Island University and served his country during
World War II, honorably discharged as a Sargent from the Army Air Force in 1946. He retired as a purchasing agent for BAE and the former AMF. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was an usher. In his retirement years, he spent his time as amember of the York Galleria Mall Walkers, an avid golfer, trying to grow the best tomatoes in York and teach his grandsons how to play billiards.The viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Joseph Church, 2935 Kingston Rd. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Steven Fernandes, O.F.M. Cap, as the celebrant. Burial will be on Holy Saviour Cemetery.Frank is survived by two daughters, Barbara Mumford, wife of Barry, Charlotte, NC, and Diane Bowen, wife of Robert, York; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Walker; four grandsons, Robert Bowen, Ryan Bowen, Matthew Bowen, and Tyler Mumford; six great grandchildren. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the , 924N Colonial Ave. York PA 17403.
