Frank M. Fischer, Sr., 78, of Hallstead, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, N.Y. His wife of 56 years, Pat (Madden) Fischer, survives.He was born on September 10, 1935 in New Brunswick, N.J., to the late Robert W. and Lena (Falk) Fischer. Also surviving are three daughters and son-in-law, Cathy and Bob Chiarella, Hallstead, Madeline Fischer, Tucson, Ariz., Linda Fischer, Centerville, Ind.; twos sons and daughter-in-law, Frank Jr., and Sheila Fischer, Hallstead, Matthew Fischer, Hallstead; seven grandchildren and spouses, Craig Williams, Lisa Chiarella, Tara (Kendall) Spencer, Jason (Lindsey) Morelli, Amy Fischer, Carrie Fischer, Miles Fisher; one great grandson, Kaisyn Spencer; two sisters, Stella Gatarz, East Brunswick, N.J., and Helen Scott, Atlanta, Ga.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Francis Edly; and two brothers, Robert and Ike Fischer. Frank was a member of the Holy Name of Mary Church. He worked for 30 years at DuPont in Parlin, N.J., and was a volunteer
fireman, and assistant chief at the Brookview Fire Co. in Brunswick, N.J. He was a chaperone for the Outdoor Club at South Brunswick High School, and was a caretaker for the Franklin Hill Cemetery, Franklin Twp. Frank was an avid outdoorsmen and hunter.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014, at the Holy Name of Mary Church, with Rev. Phillip Rayappan, officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Name of Mary Cemetery, Montrose.Visitations will be Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Daniel K.
