YORK Frank J. Bonitati entered into rest on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Select Speciality Hospital. He was the husband of the late Albina (Kelkis) Bonitati. He is survived by his loving partner and companion, Geraldine A. Staley, York; and a brother, Arthur Bonitati, Burlington, Vt. Frank was born on June 19, 1926, in Trumbull, Conn. He was the son of the late Frank P. and Jennie (Di Proni) Bonitatibus. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Bonitati; and a sister, Irene Ewell. Frank was a U.S.
Army veteran who served in the European campaign during
WWII. He worked as a self-employed carpenter and contractor for 32 years. He enjoyed camping at Cedar Lake Campground and traveling through the United States in his mobile home. Frank was a member of the following organizations: St. Rose of Lima Church, 13 Ward, St. James Lutheran Church Seniors Group, JCC, Viking Club, Shiloh American Legion Post 791,
VFW East Berlin, and was a lifetime member of the Elks in Red Lion. He was also very active at his residence community, SpiriTrust Lutheran at Kelly Drive. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 1, at 11 a.m. in the Fellowship Room at SpiriTrust Lutheran, 750 Kelly Drive, York. A luncheon will follow. A Flag Presentation will be performed by the York County Veterans Honor Guard prior to the service in the Fellowship Room. There will be a private burial at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., West York, is assisting the family In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the , 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603; or to the , 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
