Frank A. PizzutoPalm Bay, FloridaFrank A. Pizzuto, 92 passed away peacefully on January 29, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Palm Bay, Florida. He was born on May 14, 1924 in Syracuse, NY to Francesco and Grazia (Fassi) Pizzuto. He graduated from Syracuse North High School in 1942; he received his Bachelor of Music in Violin degree from the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, MA in 1947 and received his Master of Music in Musicology from Syracuse University in 1949. Frank started teaching orchestra in fall of 1949 at Pulaski, Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (APW), Camden and Mexico School Districts in New York. In 1959, he took a full time position with the Oswego County BOCES working as the orchestra teacher with APW and Pulaski schools. From 1951 - 1956, Frank taught music classes and directed the orchestra program at LeMoyne College. Frank retired from teaching in 1979. Throughout his life, his passion for music and the violin allowed him to play with the Boston Symphony under Arthur Fiedler, the Syracuse Symphony, the North Country Music Society, and many family events. In 1960, Frank purchased The Elms Golf Course in Sandy Creek, NY and in 1984, The Pines Golf Course in Pulaski, NY. He remained actively involved through the 50th celebration of The Elms G.C. in 2010. In 1992, Frank and MaryJane made Florida their permanent residence. He enjoyed being a member at the Port Malabar Country Club. In addition to golfing, he continued to play his beloved violin with various string quartets in the area, up until December 2016. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, MaryJane (Sacco) Pizzuto of 63 years. He is survived by one sister, Grace (Don) Pizzuto Fahey, North Carolina. He is survived by his children, Frank (Carol) Pizzuto of Melbourne, FL, Grace (Michael) Fox, of West Melbourne, FL, Linda (Russel) Hilton of Pulaski, NY and Thomas (Alicia) Pizzuto of Pulaski, NY. He was blessed with several grandchildren, nieces, and great grandchildren. On Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Melbourne, FL, friends are invited to attend a viewing from 9:30 - 10:30 am, followed by mass from 10:30 - 11:30 am. A reception will follow the service at The Glenbrooke Senior Living Community in Palm Bay, FL. A celebration of life memorial event will be held at The Elms Golf Club in June. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of HealthFirst.
