Frank W. RhodesLaurel-Frank W. Rhodes, age 80, of Laurel, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at Lofland Park Center in Seaford.He was born on August 13, 1936 in Laurel, a son of the late Wilson and Kathryn Rhodes.Frank retired in 2001 from Pepsi in Salisbury, after 31 years of service. He was a longtime member of St. Georges United Methodist Church in Delmar. He loved to ride his bicycle around the neighborhood, and kayaking and canoeing. Frank especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play baseball.He is survived by his wife, Catherine Pope Rhodes; daughters, Janet Rhodes and Carol Porter (Chuck); grandson, Chad Porter; granddaughter, Stephanie Ruark; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Justin, and Marley Ruark; brothers, Wilson "Jack" Rhodes, Ronald Rhodes (Beverly); sister, Carrie Whaley (Burt); sister-in-law, Shirley Rhodes; aunts, Ruth Murray and Dot Dickerson; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Marshall Rhodes.Visitations for family and friends will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on Monday, June 19, 2017 and from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. The funeral service will begin at 2 pm on Tuesday. Pastors John Rogers and Paul Owens will officiate.
