Frank TodaroShreveport, LA - Frank Todaro passed away peacefully on Saturday evening October 21, 2017 in Shreveport, LA. Services will be held at Forest Park West on Friday, October 27, at 11:00 Monsignor Earl Provenza officiating. A visitation and Rosary will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 26, at Osborn Funeral Home on Southern, Ave.Frank was born on January 26, 1924, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was the sixth child in a family of eight children of Mary LoIacono and Rosario Todaro of Shreveport, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Fair Park High School and served in World War II. He fought in the Normandy Invasion and The Battle of the Bulge. Following the war Frank married Regina Urben of Detroit, MI and they began building their family. Frank lived in the Shreveport area for over 50 years before moving to East Texas. He was an active member of St Catherine's Catholic Church and Holy Rosary Church in Shreveport before moving to Texas. He was also a member of St Joseph Catholic Church and St, Lawrence's Catholic Church in Waskom, Texas. He spent many years working as a volunteer at Holy Angels doing what he loved, working on their landscape. He was an avid gardener and loved to sit and look at his work and enjoy the beauty that turning the soil gave him. Frank spent the last 42 years of his work life at the R.W. Norton Art Gallery where, among other things, he supervised the installation of the massive azalea beds that attract visitors from all over the ArkLaTex each Spring.Frank Todaro shared 60 years of marriage with Regina Urben Todaro. They loved their life in east Texas caring for their animals that ranged from goats, donkeys, chickens, turkeys but most of all the longhorns. He called his ranch the Triple T, we called it the Doolittle Farm as you never knew what you would find from one visit to the next. Frank Todaro was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Urben Todaro and his daughter, Pauline; his parents; and siblings, Joseph Todaro, Rosalie Todaro Greco, Josephine Todaro Higganbotham, Mamie Todaro Spence, Frances Todaro Fromm, Ann Todaro Johnston (his twin sister), Victor Todaro and Anthony Todaro. He is survived by his children, Frank Todaro and his wife, Kathy Curry of Houston, TX; Mariann Douglas and her husband, Kenneth of Nacogdoches, Texas; John Todaro and his wife, Kim of Marshall, TX; Regina Webb and her husband, Robert of Cincinnati, Ohio; Elizabeth Hennigan of Shreveport, LA, Raymond Todaro and his wife, Sandy of Shreveport, LA and Gerald Todaro of Blanchard, LA. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren all who loved him dearly.
