Volm, Frank "Louie"Frank Louis Volm, age 88, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at the Jack and Engrid Meng Residence in De Pere. He was born on February 26, 1929 in Green Bay, to the late Frank Sr. and Anna (Wallner) Volm.Frank "Louie" graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1946. In 1947, he received a football scholarship to Marquette University, where he graduated from the College of Engineering. Frank "Louie" played football for the Marquette Golden Eagles and played in the 1950 College All-Star Game. He was selected in the 1951 NFL draft by the Chicago Bears. Frank "Louie" married the former Shirley "Van" Vanden Branden on November 26, 1953, in Green Bay.Frank "Louie" was the president at the Hewitt Machine Company in Neenah where he worked for 36 years.He enjoyed the Packers and watching his wife, Shirley lead the Packer Cheerleaders in the early years. Frank "Louie" also enjoyed boating, snow skiing, and travel abroad.Frank "Louie" is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley "Van" Volm, his 16 nieces and nephews in the Philadelphia area, and many other relatives.In addition to his parents, Frank "Louie" is preceded in death by his older brothers Elroy and Noel Volm.Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Chapel Mausoleum, 2770 Bay Settlement Rd., from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. with entombment to follow.
