Frank Wayne Karriker, 78, of Mooresville, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016. He was born on Jan. 1, 1938 in Rowan County, to the late Garland and Effie Brawley Karriker. Frank was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a HAM Radio operator and communicated through Morse Code all over the world. Frank was licensed by the FCC and was known as a TV repairman in the 1970s in the Mooresville area. He retired from Cox Broadcasting/WSOC TV after 30 years of service as operations engineer. Later on in his life he read through the Bible and became an avid Bible analyst. He also repaired and collected antiques. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Rainwater and Barbara Cruise; and brothers, David and John Karriker. Mr. Karriker is survived by his daughters, Wendy Fiscella and husband Anthony and Shelley Hudson and husband Kenny; brother, Larry Karriker and wife Bobbie; mother of his daughters, Carolyn Hucks Sims; granddaughter, Ashlyn Kornblatt and husband Ryan; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation & Service: The family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 from 2:30-4 p.m. with a memorial service following at 4 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thomas Schnitzlein officiating.
