RAYMOND - The Honorable Franklin C. Bishop, 84, of Raymond, died on Nov. 24, 2016, after a lengthy illness.He was born on Jan. 27, 1932, in Kingston, son of the late Chester F. Bishop and Grace Collins.As a young man, Frank joined the
United States Air Force in 1950 and proudly served his country for 10 years and four months during the
Korean Conflict.He was a member of the Laborer's Union Local 976 in Portsmouth, the American Legion Hurd-Welch Post 90 in Raymond, a lifetime member of the
VFW in Raymond and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Concord.Frank dedicated his life to civil service. He served for 18 years as a NH Representative for Rockingham County and was known as ""The People's Rep."" He was selectman for the Town of Raymond for eight years and was instrumental in raising the funds necessary to restore the civil war monument which stands in ""The Common"" in Raymond and the funds for brand new high school band uniforms. He was honored with a ""Service Above Self"" award from the Raymond Area
Rotary Club.Frank was predeceased by his daughter, Brenda Bishop, and four brothers.He is survived by his wife, Joyce Bishop of Raymond; his adopted son, Kenneth Bishop of Xenia, Ohio; two daughters, Jacqueline MacRae and her husband, Glenn, of Stratham, and Colleen Boutin and her husband, Justin, of Raymond; two sons, Chester ""Chet"" Bishop and his wife, Kate, of Bradenton, Fla., and Joseph Bishop and his fiancée, Cherise, of York, Maine; his brother, Lloyd Bishop of Fremont; his sister, Deborah Barr of Lynn, Mass.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews..SERVICES: Calling hours will be on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 2 Epping St., Raymond, N.H. Funeral services will be on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m., at New Life Church, 84 Nottingham Rd., Raymond, N.H.
