Voelker, Fred Peter,87, passed away on Tuesday September 12, 2017 surrounded by his family.He was born on December 26, 1929 in Jefferson County. Fred retired from CSX Railroad, then spent 16 years at the Sacred Heart Home, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of St. Lawrence Church.Fred is survived in death by his loving wife of 68 years LaVern (Schraedel); his five children, Corky Skaggs (Gina), Tommy Skaggs (Sharron), Eddie Voelker (Kathy) , Stacy Bibelhauser (Nick) and Missy Bearden (Matt); brother, John Voelker; sisters, Alice Callahan and Mary Meyer. Fred leaves behind nineteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.Visitation will be Friday September 15, 2017 from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Ratterman Keenan Southwest Chapels, 4832 Cane Run Rd. with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Mt. Washington, KY. Expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers to St. Jude or Hosparus.
