Frederick W. DunnLAGRANGE - Frederick w. Dunn, 84, of the Town of LaGrange passed away on November 2, 2016 after a valiant 20 year struggle with Parkinson's Disease at the Grand @River Valley Nursing Home in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was born on November 24, 1931 in New York City, the son of William & Charlotte Voigt Dunn. Frederick was employed by ASD in Poughkeepsie, NY as a Quality Control Engineer and retired in 1993. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran of the Korean War. Frederick had been a lifelong student of religion and history. He also enjoyed tennis, camping, fishing and was a lover of all kinds of music. The family would like to thank the staff at The Grandview @ River Valley for their compassionate and loving care they gave to Frederick.Survivors include his son: Frederick W.(Linda) Dunn, Jr. of Florida, NY; daughter: Linda Dunn of Hopewell Jct., NY; step-daughters: Ilske Veringa of Hyde Park, NY; Carolyn Stenger of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. and Sandra(James)Shuttleworth of LaGrange, NY. He was predeceased by his step-son: Lt. Michael Veringa and brother: George Dunn.Visitation will be Tuesday, November 8, 2016, 10AM-12Noon at the Wm. G. Miller & Son F.H., Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. There are no services. Burial will follow in the family plot in LaGrange Rural Cemetery.
