Schnaufer, Frederick J..Frederick John Schnaufer, age 75, of 40 Yale Street, Stratford, CT died peacefully under Hospice care on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 in a nursing home in New Haven, CT after several health complications. He was born on February 13, 1941 in Bronx, NYC and was a Navy Veteran who resided in Stratford, CT since 1977. He is the only son of the late Henry W. Schnaufer and the late Catherine Patinka. Fred attended Valparaiso University in Indiana and made a career out of being a draftsman who once worked on the Hubble Space Telescope project at Perkin Elmer. He was also a part-time cab driver and self-employed businessman. He was an avid sportsman with a love of the outdoors and a passion for geography & history, Mr. Fred J. Schnaufer is survived by three children - Two sons: Christian H. Schnaufer and his wife Danielle of Plainville, CT ; Daniel F. Schnaufer and his wife Nonnie of West Haven, CT. ; and one daughter Martina M. Landolt and her husband Ruedi of Naperville, IL. Grandchildren include Jessica and Matthew Schnaufer of Plainville, CT; Victoria, Falynne and Angelina Schnaufer of West Haven, CT. Kevin, Luke and Sean Landolt of Naperville, IL, along with a great grandchild, Ophelia Schnaufer of West Haven, CT. Friends may greet his family on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
