Frederick ThomasLANCASTER: Frederick M. Thomas, 81, passed away Saturday November 29, 2014 at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center. He was born on April 3, 1933 a son of the late, Mitchell J. Thomas and Mary Margaret Johnson Thomas. Frederick was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from accounting after more than 30 years of service. Frederick attended the 6th Avenue United Methodist Church, member of the Junction City Jackson FFA Alumni and Olivedale Veterans Group. He is survived by his son, Mitchell (Linda) Thomas of Broomfield, CO; daughter, Cheryl (Bob) Barber of Lancaster; three grandsons, Austin (Lindsey) Thomas, Graham Thomas and Michael (Bonnie) Arruda; and two great grandsons, Donovan and Christian.He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine "Gerry" Marie Thomas; parents; an infant daughter, Lori Sue Thomas; and sister, Norma McClendon.The family would like to thank the Lancaster VA Home Based Care Team, The Hospice Care Team at Chillicothe and all the aides from Interim Heath Care for the great care provided. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens where the Lancaster Burial Detail will perform military graveside services.
