Fredricka J. "Ricky" Howell, 80, of Wapakoneta passed away at 1:13 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at the Wapakoneta Manor surrounded by her family. ?She was born on Nov. 17, 1936, in Buckland to Charles and Flossie (Schaub) Sidey, who preceded her in death. Ricky worked for years in food services, often working two jobs, and retired from Otterbein Cridersville. She was strong willed, yet she had a heart of gold and compassion for those in need. She truly enjoyed her trips with her sister Ruth to the Eagles and to Buckland on Friday nights to "hear the old people sing." She especially loved her grandchildren and saw to it they were always cared for. From McDonald's to Red Lobster and baby shoes to wedding dresses, Granny Rick took care of business. ?Survivors include two children: Bev (Jim) Parlette, of Wapakoneta, and David (Jan) Howell, of April Sound, Montgomery, Texas; two grandchildren: Jimmy Parlette, Nicole (Justin) Taylor, both of Cridersville; and last but not least, her "Little Bubba" great-grandson Brooks Taylor; four siblings: Ruth (John) Sweigart, Ray (Caroline) Sidey, Burt (Jeanie) Sidey, and Tommy Joe Sidey.?She was preceded in death by three siblings, Bill and Jim Sidey and Hattie B. "Pat" Reynolds. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Pastor Gary Bragg officiating and burial to follow at Buckland Cemetery.
