Fredrick L. Evans Jr., 65, of Chiefland, Florida, passed on February 24, 2023. Fredrick was born on December 26, 1957, in his Florida home after having a heart attack in his sleep.

Fredrick Evans Jr. (Fred) was born to the late Fredrick L. Evans Sr. and

Gennie Brown Evans. He was immersed in the Baptist community that would be his lifelong support from an early age. He graduated from Carver High School in 1973 and went right into the Army after graduating. At the age of 26 Fredrick applied to become a Fire Fighter for the City of Atlanta, where he succeeded in his training, and he would later retire after 30 years of protecting and saving lives.


Fred was blessed with a loving family. He married his best friend Gliann Travick Evans, on September 18, 1978, in Atlanta, GA. Fred and Gliann went on to have two children Mario Evans and LaTara Evans Oglesby.


Fred is survived by his wife Gliann, his son Mario Evans and his daughter LaTara Oglesby; his grandchildren Yasmin Oglesby, Londen Oglesby, Layla Evans, Sierra Evans and Camryn Evans; and his brother, Steven Evans. He is preceded in death by, his sister, Rachel Evans Henderson; and his parents.
