Fredrick C. Schuck1933 - 2016Fredrick C. Schuck, 83, of South Bend, Ind., passed away on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at his residence. He was born on Jan. 9, 1933, in New Troy, Michigan, to the late Karl Fredrick Schuck and Grace Knight Schuck. Fred graduated from Wayland High School in 1951. He joined the U.S. Navy following graduation. He attended Hospital Corp School at Great Lakes Naval Hospital and served in Korea as a medic with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 until 1955. Fred married Joyce Sherer, on Jan. 17, 1953, in Kenosha, Wis. He is survived by his wife, his three children, Christine (Rodney) Harter, of Racine, Wis., Lori (James) Pascucci, of Kenosha, Wis., and Kevin (Mary Malone) Schuck of South Bend; six grandchildren James, Daniel (Cheryl), and Michael Pascucci, of Kenosha, Wis., and David, Jillian, and Jordan Schuck of South Bend; four great-grandchildren James Jr., Emily, Lily, and Maggie Pascucci of Kenosha, Wis.; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nancy and Eldon Lang and many beloved nieces and nephews. Upon discharge from the service, Fred worked for Snap On Tools, in Kenosha, for five years. He then worked at American Motors in Kenosha for fourteen years. Fred transferred to AM General in Mishawaka/ South Bend as manager of inventory operations until retiring in 1995. Fred was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, enjoyed golf, watching his grandsons play sports and play in the high school band. He also attended every event when his granddaughter performed with the Clay Dance Poms. Fred was preceded in death by his brother, Robert, and his sister, Geraldine. Fred was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, for 41 years. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with the service at 11 a.m. Memorial gifts may be given to First United Methodist Church, 201 E. Third St., Mishawaka, IN 46544 or to the Robert L. Miller Sr. Veterans Center, 747 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN 46601. Hahn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
